Battiferro Women’s Archaeology Trowel
Sharpened blade (125mm, 4.5 inches) with double edges at a thickness of 1.2 mm
Only £12.99
The trowel is made from a single piece of solid forged steel and is designed specifically for archaeology. It has an 11cm-sharpened blade that is perfect for sectioning and slicing through vegetation and roots within a trench.
This is the world first Archaeological trowel designed solely for women and those with smaller hands. It was developed as a joint project between Battiferro and Archtools to ensure our customers get the highest quality products.
The unique feature of this trowel is the natural hardwood handle. Because of its smaller size, reduced width and smaller tang it decreases the fatigue on a woman’s hand. Field tests by female archaeologists, students and amateurs alike have shown that it dramatically reduces palm blistering. The less bulbous handle has also been designed to make it kinder on the wrist and the palm of the hand.
